Design

UCAL K673 PRO

The 75% layout includes all essential keys totalling 81 keys,  including dedicated arrow keys and a function row, ensuring seamless navigation and productivity.  On the bottom of the keyboard, there are angled steps that you can flip out to adjust the height of the keyboard.  It is a two-level stand design, offering 3 angles for your choice. The keyboard comes in around 5.5 inches wide and 14 inches long, and weighs less than 3 pounds, making it an ideal small format solution.

Connectivity

k673 pro keyboard

Seamlessly switch between wired and wireless connectivity with the K673 UCAL Pro. Connect via USB cable for low-latency gaming or enjoy the freedom of wireless Bluetooth connectivity for effortless pairing with multiple devices.

Keycaps (two colors option)

Adding more choice to your experience is Redragon’s way.  For this reason, there are two color options to pick from, based on your preference.  You have a choice of two colors: vintage white and abyssal blue.  Abyssal blue is a darker keyboard layout with darker blue and white keys with a dark blue, almost black case, with vintage white being brighter shades of blues and white for keycaps and an off-white case.  The one I reviewed was Abyssal blue and visually it does not disappoint.  It is sleek, slightly glossy and has a bold visual appeal.

Switches

The Redragon k673 comes equipped with RED switches.  However, you can modify your experience with a range of switch options, including mechanical switches from renowned brands like Cherry MX, Gateron, and Kailh. Choose your preferred switch type based on tactile feedback, actuation force, and noise level for a personalized typing experience.

The red switches on the K673 Pro feel fantastic.  They are quiet, yet responsive.  They are a great switch for the design of the keyboard.

Gasket Mount

redragon k673 pro

Gasket-mounted keyboards employ a system of gaskets or rubber strips placed between the plate, PCB (Printed Circuit Board), and case to provide cushioning and isolation.  With the K673, this gives the user a quiet keyboard without sacrificing the soft clicky feel of keypresses. The gasketing makes the keyboard feel like a keyboard three times more expensive from my interactions with this unit.

RGB Lighting

k673 pro

There are 20 pre-programmed RGB lighting modes out of the box that you can swap between at any time using the keyboard wheel, or modify your lighting to your desires using the Pro Software.  I noticed that the lighting is bright and intense from my use, but some of the colors are a little “off” or “muted” from what I would expect.  Red sometimes looked a little more orange, yellow tended closer to whitish in color, but nothing was a deal breaker.  I’ll mark this one up to my eyes, not to the keyboard lighting, but I felt it should be mentioned.

Software

Pro Level software is supported on the K673 Pro, but to fully utilize it, the keyboard must be connected with the USB cable.  Once customized however, you can revert back to wireless mode.

Switching between lighting modes and programming macros is straightforward using the software.  Assign macros, save them to the profile and they are transferred to the keyboard instantly.  It really is as simple as selecting your keypresses for macros, or assigning your colors to an RGB profile for effects.

Battery Life

k673 pro

The K673 has a built in 3000mAh battery.  For a keyboard this size, it should last close to two weeks.  In my experience, depending on usage I got a week to ten days using full RGB. Results may vary, but expect close to two weeks using no lighting, and possibly a week of full RGB lighting use as a general guideline.

Wrap-up

With a price of 64.99 USD at the time of this review, it is hard to believe you can get a keyboard of this level of build for that low of a price.  It is sturdy, well equipped, and packed with features that rival keyboards easily in the 100+ USD range.  With its premium features, customizable options, and sleek design, the K673 UCAL Pro redefines what a mechanical keyboard can be. You won’t find many, if any, better values out there.
